The University of Toledo will celebrate its recent classification as a top-tier research university in a showcase Wednesday.
The university received the honor, known as R1, in February. UT is one of only 187 higher education institutions recognized for very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
On Wednesday, faculty and students representing colleges across the university, including artists, astronomers, cancer biologists, ecologists, educators, engineers, and historians, will showcase their work during the event through poster presentations and interactive table displays from 3 to 5 p.m. inside Savage Arena.
A brief program will begin at 3:30 p.m. with remarks by UT Interim President Matt Schroeder and other leaders.
