If there is life on Mars, participants in the University of Toledo’s Saturday Morning Science lecture will learn about the likelihood of the type living on the Red Planet.
Hint? It’s not people. But Michael Velbel, a professor in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at Michigan State University, will discuss decades of missions and meteorite research, university officials said. A tour of UT’s Ritter Planetarium and Brooks Observatory will follow the lecture.
The Search for (Ancient Microbial) Life on Mars from Past and Future Studies of Samples begins at 10 a.m. in room 1205 in Wolfe Hall, 3050 W. Towerview Blvd. A light breakfast will be available at 9:30 a.m.
Free parking is available in Area/Lot 13 from 9:45 a.m. until noon. The presentation and tour are free, but registration is required at utoledo.edu/nsm.
