No damage reported after tornado warning issued for Ottawa and part of Lucas County

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Ottawa County and northeastern Lucas County, the organization announced at 5:14 p.m. Sunday.

The warning lasted until 5:45 p.m. Sunday and no major damages were reported.

According to a statement from the Cleveland office of the weather service, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Oregon at the time the warning was issued.

“This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of Ottawa and northeastern Lucas Counties, including the following locations... Reno Beach, Bono and Williston,” the organization said at the time. 

Severe thunderstorm and special marine warnings with 60 mph winds and quarter sized hail persisted for the Lake Erie Islands and Port Clinton until 7:15 p.m. Sunday.
