Maumee River group based in Fort Wayne is having its annual fundraiser

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Fort Wayne-based Save Maumee Grassroots Organization is hosting its annual fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 23 at Rose Avenue Rehab, 501 Rose Ave., New Haven, Ind.

Cost is $10 for people ages 11 and up. There is no admission charge for those ages 10 and under.

The all-volunteer group was created in 2012 to help educate people about the Maumee River, which begins in Fort Wayne and flows through Toledo into western Lake Erie.

The event will include a silent auction, vendors, raffles, food trucks, belly dancers, live painting, and music.

Rain date is Oct. 7. For more information, go to savemaumee.org.
