Metroparks Toledo is taking registrations for a monthly hike program called Wintering the Metroparks.
The Saturday hikes take place Jan. 18, Feb. 22, and March 15. Preregistration is $10 per hike in advance or $15 via credit card for day of hikes. It’s free for kids age 4 and under. Each hike ends with s’mores and hot chocolate. The three hikes have varying lengths.
■ Jan. 18: Wintering the Towpath, 5-mile or 10-mile hikes from Providence, Kimbles Landing, via the Scout Trail through the Oak Openings region. The 5-mile hike is one-way with a shuttle bus back to Providence. The 10-mile is out and back.
■ Feb. 22: Wintering the Oaks, 6-mile, 10-mile or 16-mile hikes from Oak Openings Preserve, Beach Ridge area. The 16-mile course is the whole Scout Trail.
■ March 15: Wintering the Glass City, is a 3.5-mile hike from Glass City, Market Hall.
