Local meteorologist Ross Ellet is the featured speaker for the University of Toledo’s free Saturday Morning Science program.
Mr. Ellet has been a meteorologist at WTVG 13abc since 2012. His passion for weather began as a child in Indiana where “he experienced lake-effect snow, blizzards, ice storms, tornadoes, floods, and heat waves,” according to his bio on 13abc.com.
His Saturday presentation draws on that passion and weather data.
“While the common thinking is that a hotter climate will lead to more severe weather, the data shows that the tornado trends locally and across the country are evolving in complex and complicated ways,” university officials said describing the program.
Extreme Weather Events in a Changing Climate begins at 10 a.m. in Wolfe Hall Room 1205 on the UT campus, 2801 W. Bancroft St.
Participants can get a free light breakfast before the presentation at 9:30 a.m. Free parking will be available until noon in Area 13, university officials said.
