Toledo police are investigating two separate shootings Friday.
Officers responded at about 9 a.m. to a person shot in the 300 block of Boston Place in the central city. They said a man was shot in the foot and taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center. His injuries did not appear life-threatening, according to police.
Four people exited a vehicle and fired numerous times, witness Jason Mack said. Toledo police placed about 15 evidence markers on the ground.
“If you know anything, talk to police, because this needs to stop,” Mr. Mack said.
Separately, a Toledo woman was shot at 1:53 a.m. inside a South Toledo residence on the 200 block of Knower Street.
Authorities said Trina Swarthout, 32, was shot in the left shoulder with a pistol. Police arrested Edward Veale III, 32, of the 200 block of Knower Street on a charge of felonious assault.
Ms. Swarthout was treated at St. Vincent’s for apparently non-life threatening injuries. A Toledo Municipal Court judge set bond at $100,000 for Mr. Veale.
