Chief George Kral will be on patrol, backing up Toledo Police Department’s field operations units, from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., said Lt. Kevan Toney, spokesman for TPD. The virtual ride-along series began in 2017 on the department’s Instagram (@toledo_police) and Twitter (@ToledoPolice) pages. Nearly 2,000 people followed along last month when the series featured the department’s special weapons and tactics section.
Previous ride-alongs have included field operations, gang task force detectives, K9 unit, midnight patrol, mountain bike patrol, and SWAT, Lieutenant Toney said. To view past virtual ride-alongs, search #ridealong419 on Twitter or go to Toledo Police “saved stories” on Instagram.
