University of Toledo police are looking for a man or a teenager who tried to rob the Radisson Hotel on UT's Health Science Campus, the former Medical College of Ohio, in South Toledo early Friday.
The person entered the hotel at 3:18 a.m. and put his hand inside his sweatshirt, “pushing forward an object that was in the shape of a handgun,” university police said in a written statement.
He then demanded money from the hotel clerk, who did not comply. The alleged robber eventually fled without money “after a short verbal exchange” with the clerk, according to police.
There was no detailed description of the alleged robber. He wore a sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and a black beanie hat.
He was last seen driving a white 2010-2013 vehicle, possibly a Chrysler 200 or Dodge Avenger four-door sedan.
Anyone with information is asked to call university police at 419-530-2601.
