Columbus man identified as victim in Sunday fatal shooting

A man who died after a weekend shooting in central Toledo was identified as Anthony Wilson, 25, of Columbus, said Dr. Diane Scala-Barnett, Lucas County coroner.

He was shot in the chest and abdomen, Dr. Barnett said. His death likely was a homicide, but a ruling is pending toxicology and other test results.

The shooting occurred about 1 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Vance Street. Toledo police were nearby, heard gunshots, and responded to the scene, where they found two men with gunshot wounds.

The men were taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, where Mr. Wilson later died. Isaac Baker, 47, suffered injuries that did not appear life threatening, authorities said then.
