One person is dead after being ejected from a car in a Wednesday morning crash that shut down a section of I-475 for several hours.
The single-vehicle accident was reported to Toledo police at 2:03 a.m. According to a report, 22-year-old Ebony McKenzie, of the 2500 block of Briarwood Lane in Toledo, was driving a 2012 Audi Q5 west on I-475 between Talmadge and Corey roads when she lost control and struck the median.
The car flipped and a 22-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle. The victim, whose name has not been released pending notification of family, was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.
Ms. McKenzie was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital with serious injuries. A hospital spokesman said she was listed in critical condition late Wednesday morning.
