In addition to a Saturday homicide that took the life of East Toledoan Brock Snyder, four people were injured by gunfire in separate incidents across Toledo in recent days.
The first came Friday. Toledo police were called at 1:20 p.m. to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center regarding a walk-in gunshot victim, according to a report.
Nikolas Pompili, 28, of the 1400 block of Amesbury Road, and Billy Pierce, 29, of the 3300 block of Country View Lane, told police they were driving on the Anthony Wayne Trail near City Park Avenue when an unknown suspect in a red pickup truck drove alongside them and fired several rounds into their vehicle.
Mr. Pierce was struck by at least one shot, and his injuries did not appear life-threatening, police said.
About 5 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 4400 block of Airport Highway.
Officers found Demetrius Rowell, 33, had been struck twice in a shootout with an unidentified suspect, according to a report. He was taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital in stable condition, police said.
Multiple vehicles in the parking lot as well as one of the apartments were also struck by gunfire.
Another incident came at 4:46 a.m. Saturday when police responded to the 3200 block of Stickney Avenue.
Officers found 34-year-old Brandon Mitchell, of the 100 block of East Park Street, lying in the street with at least one gunshot wound, a report states. He was transported to St. Vincent with what police said were not life-threatening injuries.
Officers also noted in the report the victim was uncooperative.
Police were called again to St. Vincent to interview a walk-in gunshot victim at 2:15 a.m. Sunday.
Elliot Haynes, 28, of the unit block of East Weber Street, told police he was shot once in the arm during a disorder near the Docks.
