The four were booked in the Lucas County jail early Friday before being released on supervised recognizance bonds. A preliminary hearing before a Toledo Municipal Court judge was set for Nov. 17.

On Thursday, the four allegedly possessed counterfeit payroll checks and intended to cash them in Toledo, particularly at carryouts, according to court records. They were caught trying to pass one of the checks at the Meijer store at 1500 E. Alexis Rd.

Mr. Dobbs admitted to possessing and supplying his co-defendants with the counterfeit checks, records show.
