ADDISON, Mich. — An unidentified person died Saturday night after a snowmobile crashed into an ice fishing shanty on Devils Lake.

Lenawee County Sheriff Troy Bevier earlier told a Toledo TV station that the snowmobiler had struck the side of the shanty.

Sgt. Shane Webster of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources confirmed the death, but told The Blade that details about the case will be released later this week in a news release. His agency has taken over taken as the lead in the investigation.

He said the incident occurred between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
