Two men were arrested and charged with forcing a woman into prostitution.
Toledo police responded at 6:14 p.m. Saturday to the 5500 block of Christopher Court in South Toledo to check on a woman who said people had been “shooting her up with dope,” a report states. Officers found an 18-year-old who said she had been forced into prostitution and to take drugs against her will.
Police arrested Sean Turvey, 43, of the Christopher Court residence, and Jakeb Hinson, 21, of the 400 block of Whittemore Street, at the location.
Both are charged in Toledo Municipal Court with promoting prostitution, a fourth-degree felony.
Affidavits allege Mr. Turvey was collecting payment from men to have the victim perform sexual acts, while Mr. Hinson assisted him.
Mr. Turvey also faces five additional drug-related charges after a search of the Christopher Court residence turned up methamphetamine, 10 LSD tablets, a small amount of psychedelic drugs known as mushrooms, $207 in cash, and a scale, affidavits state.
He is charged with one third and one fourth-degree count of aggravated trafficking, as well as one count each of third, fourth, and fifth-degree felony possession of controlled substances.
Mr. Turvey and Mr. Hinson are to be arraigned Tuesday.
