ADRIAN — Michigan State Police announced Monday that a man has been arrested for the murder of a Tecumseh woman, whose body was recovered from the River Raisin in Lenawee County in April.
Jessica Marie Fox, 30, from Adrian was reported missing by family members on March 22. She was last seen the day before in Tecumseh. At the time, she told a friend that she was waiting for someone to pick her up near a picnic table at the Indian Crossing Trails Park off Burt Street.
After an extensive search, her body was found in the River Raisin in Raisin Township on April 8.
Two days later, an autopsy, conducted by the Lenawee County Medical Examiner, positively identified Ms. Fox.
“The autopsy determined that the cause of death was strangulation and ruled a homicide,” police said Monday.
After an investigation, police identified a person of interest and on Thursday, Christopher George Maurer, 33, from Adrian was arrested for the murder of Ms. Fox, along with other charges.
