A man shot several times outside an East Toledo bar early Tuesday later died, and the bond for a suspect in custody was raised from $250,000 to $1 million.
Earl Price, 64, of the 1000 block, was shot multiple times and found by police in the parking lot at the Last Chance Saloon, 457 Oak St., after a 1:30 a.m. emergency call, according to a Toledo Police statement. He later died at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center.
Michael Marsh, 24, of the 800 block of Kingston Avenue, was initially charged in Toledo Municipal Court with one count of second-degree felonious assault, and police said Tuesday afternoon a murder charge had been filed following Mr. Price’s death. Municipal court Judge Joseph Howe set bond at $250,000 during Mr. Marsh’s initial appearance pending an Aug. 10 hearing, and the bond was increased after the victim died, according to court records.
Witnesses told police two men fled the scene on foot. Officers located Mr. Marsh and a second man, who was arrested on unrelated charges, and recovered a gun.
Mr. Price’s death marks the 41st homicide in Toledo so far this year.
