The motorcyclist killed Tuesday at Detroit and Nesslewood avenues has been identified by the Lucas County coroner as John Mazur, 53, of West Toledo.

He died of head injuries, said Dr. Diane Scala-Barnett, the coroner.

The crash occurred about 7:05 a.m. as Mr. Mazur’s motorcycle was traveling south on Detroit and struck a truck driven by Donald Froelick, 42, also of West Toledo, which was turning right onto Nesslewood. Mr. Froelick was not injured, Toledo police said.

Mr. Mazur was not wearing a helmet.
