The man who was shot Saturday afternoon in East Toledo has died.

Toledo police Lt. Daniel Gerken reported the death about 5:20 p.m.  

Police had no suspects, he said at the scene, adding, “We’re going to talk to some people right now.”

The shooting was reported about 3:40 p.m. in the 600 block of Platt Street near Starr Avenue. Officers later placed seven evidence cones in the area.

The victim was taken by Life Squad to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center. Paramedics reported by radio to the emergency room that the man was in traumatic arrest and had lost blood.

A name was not immediately available.
