The death of an inmate earlier this week at the Lucas County jail is being attributed to natural causes.
The autopsy on Robert Witcher, 46, found the cause of death to be atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease with diabetes mellitus an underlying condition, the Lucas County Coroner's Office said Thursday.
Mr. Witcher was pronounced dead in the jail at 8:03 p.m. Tuesday, less than an hour after he was found unconscious in the dayroom of a housing unit on the jail’s sixth floor.
