ANTWERP, Ohio — An EF0 tornado hit a rural area near Antwerp in Paulding County late Friday, the National Weather Service said.
The tornado touched down at 11:53 p.m. Friday about three miles northeast of Antwerp, the weather service said Sunday. It quickly moved north and crossed the Maumee River before dissipating at 11:55 p.m. in the same location, according to a weather service report. The tornado had an estimated peak wind speed of 80 mph and a path length of 0.8216 miles, with a maximum path width of 150 yards, the weather service said.
No injuries were reported. According to survey summary from the weather service, several homes suffered minor damage to their roofs and siding, while numerous trees were uprooted and snapped along the path of the tornado.
Tornadoes classified as an EF0 have wind speeds between 65 and 85 mph. The Enhanced Fujita scale classifies tornadoes into six categories, with an EF0 being the weakest and an EF5 being the strongest.
Antwerp is about 85 miles southwest of Toledo. Earlier Sunday, a tornado was confirmed Saturday in Dundee, Mich. about 25 miles north of Toledo. No injuries were reported there.
