A 16-year-old arrived at ProMedica Toledo Hospital with a gunshot wound on Friday and police said the circumstances of the shooting were unclear.
Police responded to the hospital at about 2:15 p.m., a report said. Both the teen and a witness to the shooting who was at the hospital “gave conflicting statements as to where the shooting occurred,” authorities wrote. Police said a crime scene has not been found but an investigation is ongoing.
It was one of at least three shootings that caused injuries in Toledo since Friday. On Saturday afternoon, police reported that a 25-year-old woman accidentally shot herself while sitting in her car in West Toledo.
She had been trying to put her firearm inside her purse, a police report said, and shot herself in the abdomen. She was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
On Sunday afternoon, Jacob Carpenter, 27, was charged with felonious assault after shooting his brother, Jason Arnold, 33, in North Toledo, authorities said. Police said Mr. Arnold was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center and was expected to survive.
