The 34-year-old pregnant woman who Toledo police said was shot and killed in South Toledo early Wednesday morning was a working mother of two who “was about to have a baby,” her uncle, Terry Price, said.
Tameisha Price was found dead at the house in the 5300 block of Norton Place by officers responding to a shooting at 4:48 a.m., police said.
“She was a caring mother of two kids... a sweetheart,” Mr. Price said as he stood outside the house in the quiet neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. “That’s why all that makes no sense. ... I’m just trying to hold it together.”
Toledo police have not made any arrests in the case, a police report said.
A neighbor said residents of the house “kept to themselves.”
Ms. Price’s death marks the third homicide in the city of Toledo this year.
Lucas County Coroner Dr. Diane Scala-Barnett said Ms. Price was 8 months pregnant and had been shot multiple times. The official cause of death was pending an autopsy scheduled for Thursday.
