Motorcyclist dies from injuries in Seneca County crash

REPUBLIC, Ohio — A Fremont motorcyclist injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday in Republic has died, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.

William Owsley, 71, of Fremont, was southbound on State Rt. 19 on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he crashed about 2 p.m. into the back of a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Diane Fisher, 66, of Fremont, who was stopped at a stop sign for State Rt. 18.

Mr. Owsley, who didn’t wear a helmet, was flown to ProMedica Toledo Hospital and died there Sunday of his injuries, troopers from the state patrol’s Norwalk post said.

Ms. Fisher was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Health Tiffin Hospital. Troopers said it was not immediately known if impairment was a factor in the crash, which remained under investigation Monday.
