MILLBURY, Ohio — A Elmore, Ohio, man had to be cut from his car Monday after he collided with a Republic-Allied Waste garbage truck in Clay Township.
Daryl Orcelletto, 42, was westbound on State Rt. 795, just west of State Rt. 51 around 6:35 a.m. when he started to pass a Republic-Allied Waste garbage truck, that was also westbound.
At the same time, Kyle Barney, 35, of Holland, the driver of the garbage truck, started to turn left into a private drive. Mr. Orcelletto’s car crashed into the left side of the garbage truck and both vehicles careened off the south side of the road, troopers at the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Sandusky post said.
Mr. Orcelletto had to be cut from his car and was taken by air ambulance to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Barney was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The crash is still being investigated.
