An effort by police to stop a stolen car Saturday landed a 13-year-old in the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center.
Around 3:15 p.m. police spotted a stolen car near Bush and Michigan streets in North Toledo. A brief pursuit ensued, ending a short time later when the car crashed into a pole at Champlain and Galena streets, less than a mile away.
Police found four teens in the car. All four — a pair of 13-year-olds, a 15-year-old, and a 16-year-old — were taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
