A man was kidnapped and held captive for seven days while six people beat and tortured him, according to complaints filed in Toledo courts on Friday.
The six were each charged with kidnapping to terrorize or to inflict serious physical harm on the victim of another, a first-degree felony, Toledo police said in court documents.
Arrested and charged were Aaron M. Bradshaw, 49, and Austin M. Bradshaw, 23, both of the 700 block of Parker Avenue in Toledo, and Michael Esqueda, 28, Martina Jones, 28, David Cessna, 26, and Chance Johnston, 27, all of the 1500 block of South Reynolds Road in Maumee.
The Reynolds Road address where four of the defendants are listed in court records as residing is the Red Roof Inn.
On March 14, the man was restrained while the suspects beat him with their hands and a metal bat, according to Toledo Municipal Court records. The police officer who filed the court complaint said the person had injuries, including serious ones, all over his body.
“The victim was also made to stand for extended periods of time, was only allowed to eat and drink once a day, and only slept 10 hours during a seven-day period,” the court documents said.
Information on where the incident happened, the age of the victim, or how police became aware of the circumstances was not available Sunday night.
