Employee killed in workplace accident at Dundee Engine Plant

DUNDEE, Mich. — An employee at Stellantis’ Dundee Engine Plant was killed in a workplace accident on Monday morning, company officials said.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, they were summoned to the facility at 5800 Ann Arbor Rd. around 1:25 a.m. They found a 62-year-old Detroit man had been seriously injured by a machine while working on the assembly line. He was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he later died, the sheriff’s office said.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends, and coworkers of a Dundee Engine Plant employee who was involved in a fatal workplace accident this morning,” the company said in a statement. “The company is currently working with local authorities to investigate the incident.”
