The Barack Obama re-election campaign is opening an office in Sylvania tonight.
The grand opening is set for 7 p.m. today at 5834 Monroe St. in a commercial strip shopping center.
The office opens just five months away from the election and about two months after the Obama for Ohio campaign opened its Toledo field office downtown.
The campaign also has field offices in Steubenville, Zanesville, Mansfield, Whitehall, Portsmouth, Kent, Cheviot, Newark/Heath, Ashtabula, Mason, Wooster, Warren, Mentor, Lima, Defiance, Northern Hamilton County, Bowling Green, Beavercreek, Youngstown, New Philadelphia, Athens, Cincinnati, Parma, Columbus, Middletown, Dayton, Chillicothe, Shaker Heights, and on the campus of The Ohio State University.
A campaign spokesman said the Sylvania location will serve as community hub for 2012 election activities, such as house parties, voter registration drives, phone banks, and canvasses.
