Hicks-Hudson promoted by Ohio House Democrats

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Paula Hicks-Hudson (D., Toledo) has been promoted in leadership by fellow House Democrats.

The freshman state representative and former Toledo mayor was elected minority whip, the number-three leadership post in the House Democratic caucus. That’s a promotion from assistant minority whip, the number-four spot.

The vacancy in leadership was created by last week’s resignation of Rep. Kent Smith (D., Euclid).

“We have an incredible leadership team that’s delivering results for taxpayers, and I look forward to continue working with members and staff to strengthen our caucus, expand opportunity for working families and build an economy that works for everyone,” Ms. Hicks-Hudson said.
