The 2nd District consists of Lucas, Ottawa, Wood, Erie, Huron, and Lorain counties and a piece of northern Hancock. The seat is currently held by Kirsten Hill, of Lorain County, who is not seeking re-election.
Republican Sarah McGervey, a Catholic middle school teacher, Is also in the race. She is fresh off another race, having unsuccessfully sought her party's nomination for a Lorain County seat in the state House of Representatives.
“We need our Ohio State Board of Education to work together, to focus on education policy not culture wars, and to focus on effective learning for our students,” Ms. Fedor said. “I'm running for the Ohio State Board of Education to reach across the aisle and find common-sense solutions for our teachers, students, and parents.”
