Residents have until July 10 to register for the Aug. 8 special election in Ohio, the secretary of state's office said.
On Aug. 8, Issue 1, the only item on the ballot, will ask voters to amend the Ohio Constitution to require all future such amendments to get the support of at least 60 percent of voters. That's up from a simple majority. The current standard will apply to passage of Issue 1.
The Ohio Secretary of State's Office said that military and overseas absentee ballot voting begins June 23.
In-person early voting starts July 11. Applications for absentee ballots to be mailed must be received by a voter's local county board of elections by Aug. 1, which will remain open until 8:30 p.m. that day.
Polls will be open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 8.
