The Lucas County Board of Elections decided at its monthly meeting Tuesday that Anthony Wayne High School will be the exclusive polling location for voters in Whitehouse.
Population growth and high voter turnout prompted the change, said Tim Monaco, deputy director of the Board of Elections.
Residents who had used Community of Christ Lutheran Church will be notified of the change, Mr. Monaco said.
The change was inevitable because the board was “going to have to make it [the change] in two years for population growth, anyway.”
“We don’t want people waiting, and if they are waiting, we don’t want them waiting outside,” Mr. Monaco said during the meeting. “This would certainly help with that. ... We’ve reached a point with all the growth that there is that using [Community of Christ Lutheran Church] is not conducive.”
