Starting Sunday, Arcadis, a consulting firm working with the city of Perrysburg, will be conducting nighttime weiring as part of a sewer system study.
This work will take place between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., Sunday through Friday, weather permitting.
In some cases, workers may need to enter yards to access the manholes. Residents will receive a door hanger notification from Arcadis field staff if work is to be done near their properties. Work may begin 48 to 120 hours after notice is received.
Weiring is a process used to measure water flow in the sewer system. A team will visit pre-selected manholes to enter the manhole and install a temporary barrier, or weir, inside the sewer pipe. They will also measure and record water flow after it stabilizes. On average, teams can assess 8 to 12 locations per night.
The work is expected to take four to six weeks, depending on weather conditions.
