Connection of new water service lines as part of Sylvania’s ongoing downtown improvement project will close part of Main Street to through traffic next week, the city announced.

The current one-way traffic pattern between Maplewood Avenue and Erie Street will become two-way with no through traffic Monday morning. The work site will progress north from Maplewood toward Erie as the water connections to individual properties are installed.

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained, but may change depending on where work is underway at any given time.

The work is scheduled to conclude Friday, but could be extended by weather delays during the week, officials said.
