The city of Perrysburg is changing some of its refuse pickup routes, which will change collection days for over 1,000 residents.
The department of public service has been looking at ways to make refuse pickup more efficient due to the growth of residential areas, especially on the west side of the city, officials said.
Rob Ross, director of public service, presented the plan to the city council’s service committee on Feb. 26.
The route changes will go into effect the week of April 7. Residents whose days will be changed will be sent a letter and a sticker will be put onto their toter. They can also check their garbage day on the city’s GIS map once the new routes go into effect.
The last time the city rerouted the refuse routes was 15 years ago, and approximately 300 homes were impacted then.
