Traffic lights were out near the downtown end of the Anthony Wayne Bridge by a Toledo Edison power outage that may also be affecting rail traffic through Toledo.
According to Toledo Edison’s power-outage map, more than 100 electricity customers were without power near downtown Toledo. Police communications indicated traffic lights were out along Summit Street near the bridge, which also is known as the High Level Bridge.
Social media reports state the nearby Norfolk Southern railroad bridge over the Maumee River was open for a vessel passage when it lost power, thus preventing it from being swung back for trains after the boat went by until power was restored using an on-site emergency generator.
