Glass City Marathon to close several streets

Numerous arterial streets will be closed Sunday morning near the University of Toledo and adjoining parts of West Toledo, Ottawa Hills, and the Sylvanias during the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon, officials announced, and some also will be closed Saturday morning for the Glass City 5K race.

Toledo streets to be closed Sunday morning include Bancroft Street between Orchard Road and Westwood Avenue, Douglas Road between Oakwood Avenue and University Hills Boulevard, all of University Hills, and Secor Road between Bancroft and Dorr streets. Parts of Bancroft, Dorr, Douglas, and Secor will be closed for Saturday’s shorter race.

The marathon route also includes most of Indian Road in Ottawa Hills and parts of Sylvania Avenue and Corey Road in Sylvania and Sylvania Township. Street closings are expected to remain in place until early afternoon, and detour routes will not be posted.
