WEST UNITY, Ohio — Free flavored shaved ice and $1 hot dogs will be offered during a customer-appreciation event Friday at an Ohio Turnpike service plaza near this Williams County community.

The event, co-sponsored by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Indian Meadow plaza on the turnpike’s westbound side.

Williams County Health Department staff will promote child passenger safety and demonstrate how to properly install safety seats. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers will display a patrol car inside the service plaza and meet with guests.

Attendees can also spin an electronic prize wheel to win Ohio Turnpike merchandise, including $25 Sunoco gas cards, courtesy of 7-Eleven.

West Unity is 50 miles west of Toledo.
