Open Dialogue at UF
The University of Findlay hosts its second annual Open Dialogue, exploring Christian and atheistic views about the origins of the world and the existence of God, on Thursday.
Ivana Nikolic Hughes will represent an atheistic perspective. Ms. Hughes is a senior lecturer in discipline in Columbia University’s chemistry department and the director of Frontiers of Science, a required course for all first-year students at the university.
Robert DiSilvestro will represent a Christian perspective. Mr. DiSilvestro is professor emeritus in the Ohio State University’s human sciences department. He has written and presented on the relationship between science and theology.
Open Dialogue is free to attend. The presentations begin at 8 p.m. in the TLB Auditorium of Winebrenner Theological Seminary, 950 N. Main St, Findlay.
Free Closet at Trilby UMC
Trilby United Methodist Church’s Free Clothing Closet is now open following a relocation and redecoration. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first and third Friday of each month. Park in the south lot at the church, 5918 Secor Rd., and use the outdoor steps leading down into the closet. Patrons should bring photo identification and social security cards for any children who need clothing.

Gospel Extravaganza
The Christian Education Department of Warren AME Church presents its 2019 Gospel Extravaganza on Feb. 23. Choirs, praise teams, dance ministries, and more perform between 4 and 7 p.m.
Warren AME is at 925 Collingwood Blvd. The Gospel Extravaganza is an annual event. It is free to attend. For more information call 419-324-4189.
‘Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing’
St. Martin de Porres Parish welcomes the Toledo Symphony and Maestro Chelsea Tipton II for its 29th Annual Black History Month Concert on Feb. 24. The church is dedicating the concert to the memory in the Rev. P. Martin Donnelly, who died in January and who was instrumental in organizing the first annual performance at St. Ann Parish.
St. Ann later merged with St. Teresa of Avila Parish to form St. Martin de Porres Parish.
The concert begins at 5 p.m. at the church, 1119 W. Bancroft St. Tickets are $20 in advance at the church or $25 at the door; student tickets are $10. Baritone De’Ron McDaniels is the soloist; Maestro Tipton is former resident conductor of the Toledo Symphony.
During the concert, the Rev. F. Anthony Gallagher will be honored with the St. Katharine Drexel Award. Father Gallagher is a retired diocesan priest who remains active at the Milan Federal Prison, Jobs with Justice, Farm Labor Organizing Committee, and United Pastors for Social Empowerment. He is a founding member of the Association of United States Catholic Priests.
