The Northwest Ohio Jewish Book Festival kicks off Friday, with programming that continues for two weeks.
Authors will present their books at several events that will also feature discussions, activities, and food. Eight books are featured this year, ranging from children’s books and novels to a parenting guide and cookbook.
Books will be available for purchase in advance; a limited number of copies will be available at the event.

Lecture explores abortion, public policy
The Rev. James Bacik offers a lecture Thursday on Abortion and Public Policy after Dobbs. He will discuss the challenges and opportunities for policies to be developed that respect the rights of women and unborn children.
The lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Franciscan Center, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania. Tickets are $10, cash or check at the door; students, religious, and those with financial need are admitted free.
Epworth Bazaar promises crafts galore
Epworth United Methodist Church hosts an Arts and Crafts Bazaar on Saturday. More than 60 vendors will sell handcrafted goods including jewelry, and holiday items.
There will also be a silent auction featuring baskets, gift cards, tickets, and vendors’ wares. And attendees can enjoy baked goods and a coffee bar. All proceeds from the bazaar support local mission work.
The event runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4855 W. Central Ave., at the intersection with Valley View Drive. Admission and parking behind the church is free.
Faith traditions find common ground in music
Enjoy a night of music from various faith communities in a concert hosted by the MultiFaith Council of Northwest Ohio.
First Unitarian Church of Toledo, the Hindu Temple of Toledo, and the Sylvania Baha'is, are set to provide musicians. There also will be a silent auction featuring 35 items.
The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 7 at Warren AME Church, 915 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo.
Registration is $20 in advance at bit.ly/MFCMSA, or $25 at the door. Proceeds benefit the MultiFaith Council's campaign to sustain its operations.
The event also serves as a farewell celebration for the council’s founder and president Judy Trautman.
All Saints welcomes new music director
Luke Rosen begins his new role as director of music ministry at All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford on Tuesday.
Mr. Rosen previously directed music at Corpus Christi University Parish for 23 years. Some of his original compositions, published by Oregon Catholic Press, are printed in the Breaking Bread hymnals at many Catholic churches.
All Saints holds its weekend Masses at 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and at 8:30 and 11 a.m. on Sundays at 628 Lime City Rd., Rossford.
Mr. Rosen will provide music at both Sunday Masses, and on occasional Saturdays.
