Religious Offerings: Sisters of Notre Dame to Stuff the Truck

■ In celebration of Catholic Sisters Week, observed annually March 8-14, the Sisters of Notre Dame are hosting their fifth annual Stuff the Truck food drive on Friday.

The sisters will be joined by the Ursuline Sisters of Toledo, Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Sylvania Franciscan Sisters, Tiffin Franciscan Sisters, Mercedarian Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Sisters of the Visitation, offering prayers and service with the event, which will support the SeaGate Food Bank.

The community is invited to drop off non-perishable items or monetary donations at Walt Churchill’s Market, 3320 Briarfield Blvd., Maumee, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Friday. Churchill’s will have prepared bags of needed items for purchase.

Holi Toledo: Local Hindu temple readies for celebration of spring

The Christian artist has been performing at a range of venues for 20 years. She's released five albums, the most recent being From the Bathroom Floor in June. She also released three singles last year.

Her music carries themes of love, hope, and truth, and she strives to share joy and the Gospel in her performances.

The concert begins at 6 p.m. at the church, 1201 Madison Ave., Toledo. It’s open to all and free-will offerings will be accepted.

■ The Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo’s Jewish Community Relations Council is hosting model Seder on March 23 for Toledo’s non-Jewish community to learn about the ritual feast that marks the beginning of Passover.

Jews will celebrate Passover this year beginning on April 12. The eight-day festival commemorates the Israelites’ exodus from slavery in Egypt and celebrates the theme of freedom.

The traditional Passover Seder will teach about the holiday and Judaism. Participants will have their own traditional seder plate with symbolic foods eaten on Passover. The event is in partnership with Bethany Christian Fellowship and will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at Temple Shomer Emunim, 6453 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania.

The program is free, but attendees are asked to bring hygiene or paper products for the Jewish Senior, Family & Social Services Food Pantry.

■ Toledo’s two St. Patrick Catholic churches hold special events for their patron saint’s feast day.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians, an Irish Catholic fraternal organization, holds its annual Hibernian St. Patrick's Day Celebration at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. 

The Historic Church of St. Patrick holds its annual St. Patrick’s Day event on Sunday. There will be an Irish sing-along at 9:30 a.m., before the 10 a.m. Mass. The procession will include Irish flags and bagpipes.

A reception will be held in the rectory at 11:30 a.m. featuring a Jiggs dinner, bangers and mash, mac and cheese, coleslaw, desserts, and an Irish coffee bar.

Tickets are $25 or $10 for those 10 and under, and can be purchased after Mass. The celebration serves as a fund-raiser for the parish’s preservation society.
