Erika Lee of Ohio admitted she promoted the rumor on social media about Haitians eating dogs and cats. And now she said she regrets it because she had no proof, but Trump and Vance continue to spread the story. Trump even added geese to the list. What next? Now the citizens of Springfield, not just Haitians, live in fear with numerous bomb threats or worse. Children are not being educated because schools are closed. The hospitals, municipal buildings, a university, and businesses received threats. Is this what our country will look like if he’s re-elected?
Haitians are not taking over the town! The Haitians were brought to Springfield legally to fill manufacturing jobs that weren’t being filled by local residents. Trump claims they are illegal and if he’s elected will round them up and get rid of them. Is this what the future looks like?
Government officials have investigated and found no proof of anyone stealing or eating people’s pets or geese. The town of Springfield deserves an apology from Trump and Vance. What they are doing is deplorable and inexcusable, not to mention dangerous.

Liberal media is threat to democracy
Many of us saw the so-called presidential debate. The liberal media selects the commentators and questions to be asked. Now the commentators can even challenge the answers of the participants, but they only seemed to challenge one of the participants.
Four months ago the media indicated that the only individual capable of running the country was President Biden, now they tell us that the only individual capable is Vice President Harris.
It is my opinion that the greatest threat to democracy is the liberal media.

Abolish daylight saving time for good
Here we go again, nearing the time we play with the clocks.
A well-meaning politician or two will again promise to put an end to daylight saving time once and for all, but seem to get caught up in other nonsense legislation and nothing gets done. I was lucky enough to work outdoors. When more daylight was needed to accommodate either work or play we changed our schedule, not the clocks.

Billions left over
The money left from the pandemic should be spent on creating smaller class sizes in elementary schools and on paying teachers better. It then could help repair damage done to students’ learning because of the pandemic.
