BGSU QB Bryce Veasley enters transfer portal

Quarterback Bryce Veasley has entered his name in the transfer portal, Bowling Green confirmed Thursday.

The move temporarily left redshirt junior Grant Loy as the only scholarship quarterback on the roster, but the Falcons announced the addition of Boston College transfer Darius Wade later Thursday.

Veasley, a redshirt freshman, never appeared in a game for Bowling Green, but was due to move up the depth chart this season after former starting quarterback Jarret Doege also transferred this offseason.

Veasley signed with Bowling Green in 2018 under former coach Mike Jinks. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 231 pounds, Veasley led West Bloomfield (Mich.) High School to the state championship game as a senior in 2017.

Tight end Joey Carroll make a reception during spring practice. Carroll, a St. Francis grad, is likely to play right away as a freshman this season.
