BOWLING GREEN — The Miami Dolphins have hired Bowling Green director of football operations Olivia Passy as a scout, according to reports Tuesday from the Athletic and ESPN.
Bowling Green said Derek Miller, previously the program’s recruiting coordinator, will move into the role vacated by Passy.
Upon being hired by Falcons coach Scot Loeffler in 2019 at age 23, Passy was the second female to hold her position at a Mid-American Conference school. She previously spent time on the staff at Boston College, where Loeffler had been the offensive coordinator.
She spent one season at BGSU — which will not play football this fall after the Mid-American Conference chose to postpone the season — before moving to the National Football League.
Last year, Loeffler called Passy a “superstar” in the making and predicted she would be in the NFL one day.
“She’s way beyond her time, which is awesome,” he said then. “The NFL, I’m sure, will be chasing after her some day. She’s good at what she does.”
News: The @MiamiDolphins have hired two female scouts. Joyce Harrell and Olivia Passy have joined Chris Grier’s staff with the title of personnel scout. They join a rapidly expanding roster of women working in scouting across the NFL.
