Late goal sinks Bowling Green hockey in loss at Bemidji St.

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Ethan Somoza scored with 41 seconds remaining and Bemidji State picked up a 2-1 win over the Bowling Green State University hockey team on Thursday night.

Each team scored in the opening period with Bemidji State getting an early goal from Lukas Sillinger.

Bowling Green (14-3) answered late in the period with a goal from Brandon Kruse.

Bemidji State goaltender Zach Driscoll made 25 saves on 26 Bowling Green shots to limit the Falcons to just the early goal.

BG goalie Eric Dop made 36 saves on 38 Bemidji State shots.

Each team had one unsuccessful power play opportunity.

The teams play again Friday at 3:07 p.m.
