BGSU, Fralick agree to a contract extension

After Robyn Fralick led Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team to the Mid-American Conference regular-season championship, the third-year coach has been rewarded with a contract extension.

BG announced Tuesday it has agreed to a three-year extension with Fralick, keeping her at the helm through 2027.

Fralick was named MAC coach of the year last week after leading the Falcons, picked 11th in the preseason coaches poll, to the No. 1 seed in the league tournament. BGSU earned its first MAC tournament win since 2013 and advanced to the championship game for the first time since 2011.

Head coach Robyn Fralick has led BGSU to its first postseason appearance in 7 years.

"Robyn Fralick has built a tremendous team culture within the BGSU women's basketball program," Bowling Green director of athletics Bob Moosbrugger said in a press release. "She and her staff have elevated our program to a championship level in just three short years with the added challenge of a pandemic. The student-athlete experience in our women's basketball program is first class, and we look forward to continued growth under Coach Fralick's leadership for years to come."

Bowling Green’s six losses have come by 28 combined points.

As of Monday, BGSU sat at No. 58 in the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings after finishing 253rd in the RPI last season. Nationally, the Falcons rank eighth in steals, 16th in turnover margin, 20th in 3-pointers made, and 21st in assists.

"When I came here, the goal was to surround the program with great people and get to work,” Fralick said in a press release. “I am so thankful for my staff. They are incredible. I am also so thankful for my team — they are the heartbeat of our program. I look forward to continuing to build this program every day with great people and a shared mission."
