HOUGHTON, Mich. — The Bowling Green State University hockey team scored the final three goals of the game to top No. 14 Michigan Tech 4-2 on Saturday.
The loss is the first regulation setback for the Huskies since Dec. 4.
Eric Gotz opened the scoring for Michigan Tech in the first period, before Bowling Green's Nathan Burke evened the score at 1-1 midway through the opening period.
Matthew Quercia scored moments later for Michigan Tech.
Bowling Green’s Evan Dougherty tied the score at 2-2 in the second period, before third period goals from Ryan O'Hara and Coale Norris helped the Falcons get the win and three points in the standings.
"We had a really good effort tonight, and are very proud of our team," BGSU coach Ty Eigner said. "Our guys played hard, competed, and got rewarded for it. It was a big win, for sure."
Bowling Green will return to the Slater Family Ice Arena to host Northern Michigan on Friday and Saturday for the last home series of the regular season.
