Bowling Green's Brooks earns PFF first team All-America honor

BOWLING GREEN — Karl Brooks, a Bowling Green State University defensive lineman, received first team All-America honors by Pro Football Focus, PFF announced on Tuesday. 

Brooks is tied for eighth in Division I with 10 sacks (eight solo) alongside Alabama’s Will Anderson, Jr. Brooks’ 18.0 tackles for loss ranks ninth in the nation. Through 12 games, the defensive end has 50 tackles (30 solo), two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, six quarterback hurries, and three pass breakups.

University of Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell and Rockets defensive lineman Desjuan Johnson received second team and honorable mention All-America honors, respectively.

Mitchell has 36 tackles (24 solo), 3.5 TFL, five interceptions, and 17 pass breakups. Johnson has 61 tackles (23 solo), 15.5 TFL, 5.5 sacks, an interception, and two QBH.
