SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team picked up its second victory in as many days on Thursday, defeating Lehigh 85-73 in the Savannah Hoops Invitational.
A 15-2 run late in the second quarter helped Bowling Green (4-1) overcome an early nine-point deficit. The Falcons took the lead for good in the third quarter as part of a 10-0 run. They closed out the game by making 8 of 8 free throws.
Lexi Fleming had 22 points, and Erika Porter scored 20 for the Falcons, who defeated Mercer on Wednesday. Fleming also had seven rebounds, while Porter had six.
Morgan Sharps had 15 points, hitting 4 of 8 3-pointers in her first game since suffering an injury against the University of Toledo in January. Amy Velasco scored 14.
Colleen McQuillen led Lehigh (5-1) with 19 points. Lily Fandre scored 13, Meghan O’Brien had 12 points, and Jamie Behar scored 10.
Bowling Green shot 52.5 percent from the field, going 31-of-59, and had an 11-rebound advantage (37-26).
The Falcons host Duquesne at 7 p.m. Monday at the Stroh Center.
